Eileen Hassett, is an Irish Jewellery Designer from Loughmore, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, she comes from a fashion and business background. Eileen has always been involved in creating and making crafts. In recent years, Eileen has been lucky enough to get the chance to explore this aspect of herself. In 2013, she graduated from a two year Professional Arts Practise Course at Grennan Mill Craft School in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.
This lead to a fascination with metal. Eileen continued her studies in Dublin for two years in the School of Jewellery, successfully graduating in July with a Higher Certificate in Traditional Jewellery Design and Goldsmithing. Eileen has developed a range of jewellery using the skills she has gained.
Eileen designs and makes gold and silver bespoke pieces of jewellery using precious and semi precious stones. Her inspiration for her designs come from her keen interest and love for Irish History and Folklore. It was while researching her own family tree that she came upon her father’s letter from 1937 on Dúchas.ie. This letter is one of several historical inspirations for her designs and central to” The Dancing Master Range.”
Eileen has a studio at home and is constantly working on new designs.
